Brief History: Michael Corner was the only child born to one of the few remaining pureblood families in the wizarding world. And, to top it off, they were quite wealthy as well. His life before Hogwarts was quite uneventful. The only children he played with were those of wizard families, but thankfully his parents weren't blood purity snobs. They didn't care if the parents were muggleborn one bit. As most parents in the wizarding world would be, they were quite overjoyed when he got his letter to Hogwarts and especially proud when he was sorted into Ravenclaw , not to mention relieved. He had been a somewhat hyper child, as well as a bit on the unfocused side, so they assumed this meant he would soon be maturing and calming down. Sadly, they were mistaken.

Like the other Ravenclaws, Michael did have a thirst for knowledge, but it was only in particular subjects. It wasn't uncommon for him to get low marks in the classes that bored him while getting high ones in the classes he loved on the same report card. He quickly became close with fellow Ravenclaws, Terry Boot and Anthony Goldstien. During his fourth year, not too long after the Yule Ball, he began to date Ginny Weasley and even joined the D.A. because she was in it. This relationship, however, was doomed to fail. And, of all things, it failed because Gryffindor beat Ravenclaw in a quidditch match.

Michael was one of the regrouped members hiding in the Room of Requirement before engaging in the Battle of Hogwarts, and when Harry attempts to reject the D.A.'s offer to help him in his mission, he soon relents due to Michael's protests and those of other members.

After the war, and not to mention school ended, Michael was eventually disowned by his parents. This happened for two reasons, the first being that he once brought home a boyfriend instead of a girlfriend. No, he hadn't turned gay, but he'd always had an interest in both sexes, and he saw no problem with such behavior. And while this angered them, it wasn't what pushed them over the edge. That happened when he told his parents that he wanted to be an actor. They gave him an ultimatum then, either get a respectable job or he could forget any sort of help he would receive from them. Sadly, Michael was a stubborn child and he remained stubborn all the way up into adulthood. He decided to go after acting after all. And that's where he still is.

He's got a small apartment that he shared with a friend, but he'd doing what he loves even though he doesn't have the money at his fingertips that he used to have. He adores being on stage and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

Writing Samples:
Third Person: Michael had been sitting anxiously around his apartment, waiting for the owl that would tell him if he had landed the role in the new production of Merlin: The Wizard of Ages. He had been up for the title role, but had told him that if they preferred, he'd be more than willing to play any of the other lesser characters. He had just gotten up to go get a glass of water when he heard a tap at the window. Eyes wide, he rushed over to open it up, taking the letter from the owl as he reached in his pocket for a treat.

Once the owl had left, Michael bit his lip and headed slowly over to his chair. Suddenly he wasn't in as big of a hurry to read his reply, because it was about to be a very real thing. He could get Merlin, though he found that unlikely. But he could also get a lesser character or worse, they could pass on him entirely. His anxiety coming to a head, Michael finally opened the letter and read it, eyes going wide once more at what it said.

First Person: I can't believe it! I got it! I can't bloody believe it but I got the role of Merlin in Merlin: The Wizard of Ages! Oh, this has to be the best day of my life by far. I've only spent years dreaming of getting cast in this role and it's actually happened! I hope I can do him justice. The director and the producers seem to have faith in me though, obviously, as they gave me the part. This really could be my big break. No offense to my room mate or anything, but I can't wait till I can afford to get out of this hole. No, wait. I can wait if the only way is to take a path that my parents would find suitable, but I'm not going to. They'll just have to find a new heir or something, because I'm sticking with my dream here!
